Mission Statement

Mindset aims to provide person-centered, compassionate care which empowers individuals along their mental health journey. We encourage a therapeutic environment, promoting learning, growth, and resilience. Our multidisciplinary team of professionals aims to collaboratively deliver evidence-based treatment which consistently focuses on the individual.

We strive to reduce mental health treatment’s stigma while respecting all individuals. Our goal, through education, therapeutic interventions, and an approach focused on inclusivity and diversity, is to encourage skill-building and a sense of community. We help individuals acquire tools to tackle challenges and eventually achieve positive change in their lives.

Mindset aspires to instill hope and to be a valuable resource to the community, fostering a therapeutic space where individuals can find relief from immediate challenges and acquire sustained and improved mental health. Intensive outpatient treatment is a vital intervention on the continuum of care, assisting the stabilization of patients and their recovery from acute symptoms. This level of care is ideal for people requiring more contact than standard outpatient visits but not needing 24/7 inpatient treatment.

Foundation & Vision

Mindset was born through a dinner conversation between Rachel & Sara in which they discussed the lack of intensive mental health resources within our community. From this came a vision to provide specialized, evidence-based mental health support for adults in the Pierce County area, focusing on mood and trauma disorder treatment through an in-person Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

Our Treatment Philosophy

Mindset is a person-centered program. Our team believes in the worth and dignity of each and every person and we collaborate with respect and empathy. A primary goal is to be a safe treatment space where participants can feel empowered in their healing.

We also understand that mental health is a deeply personal experience. As such, our program at Mindset aims for each participant’s specific needs and preferences to be addressed. We ensure that the unique experiences that every individual participant brings to the group are valued. Through active listening, open communication, and a genuine partnership between our participants and our team, we aim to co-create a personalized treatment plan that reflects individual goals and values.

We are committed to providing culturally competent and socially just care. Our program emphasizes collaborative decision-making and promotes self-determination, empowering individuals to be active participants in their treatment. We are proud of our Tacoma area community’s diversity and actively seek opportunities to serve and work with individuals representing all backgrounds.
